‘My Stint On Alcohol’ – Length 4:52
Murray is an Exodus regular. He’s the heart and soul of the community. He defends the homeless and the disadvantaged. He’s a poet, a philosopher. He’s also an ex alcoholic who hasn’t been allowed to see his son for eighteen years. He has many wise and heart felt thoughts to express about life.
“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.”
– Mother Teresa
“A man who drinks too much on occasions is still the same man as he was sober. An alcoholic, a real alcoholic, is not the same man at all. You can’t predict anything about him for sure except that he will be someone you never met before.”
– Raymond Chandler – The Long Goodbye
If someone you know is on the edge of homelessness the Exodus Foundation can offer assistance and advice through its Social Health & Wellbeing services and Crisis Intervention program.
